S.J.Res.104 #WarPowers

#WarPowers #SenatorHusted #SenatorMoreno

U.S. Senator Jon Husted and U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno voted “NAY” on S.J.Res.104, their contribution helped block the discharge Resolution from the Foreign Relations Committee in a 47-53 vote. Continuing a decades-long trend of Congress ceding it's Article 1 Section 8 Constitutional war powers to the executive branch—a phenomenon often described as *War Powers Drift*

The S.J.Res.104 resolution would have required U.S. forces to be Removed from hostilities with IRAN unless Congress formally approved military action through a Declaration of War or an Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF).

War is among the gravest decisions a nation can make. It risks the lives of our young men and women in uniform, devastates families, and reshapes communities. Congress exists to ensure such decisions are made openly, responsibly, and democratically—not unilaterally.

If you share these concerns, now is the time to act. Contact your Senators and Demand they uphold Congress’s Constitutional Authority and ensure that decisions of War and Peace receive the scrutiny and accountability they demand.
