Stop The Saudi Arms Deal

Dear Friend of Liberty
" It doesn’t need to happen.
Last week, notice was given to Congress that new weapons deals that could potentially amount to $300 BILLION dollars or more were in place for Saudi Arabia.
It was treated as a done deal by everyone, especially the media.
Well, they weren’t counting on you and me.
I’ve started my part by introducing a privileged motion in the Senate called a “Resolution of Disapproval” that will FORCE the Senate to vote on this arms deal.
And by law, that vote MUST take place in the next 30 days. They can’t filibuster it, stop it, or otherwise try to hide it.
So I’m asking you to do your part too. First, add your name to my RESOLUTION OF DISAPPOVAL today.
And also while you’re there, help RANDAC spread the word on this important fight.
Sometime in the next 30 days, Congress will be forced to vote on whether or not we should sell arms to a county that:
** Actively bombing Yemen, including civilian population, using our weapons and illegally using our technical assistance.
** From the 28 pages of the 9/11 report and elsewhere, shown to be one of the world’s leading funders of terrorist activity and extremist ideology.
** Has a miserable human rights records. Civil rights, the rights of women in their society – it is all abysmal.
To put is simply – the United States has no business arming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We also have no business getting ourselves even further into the mess that is the civil wars of the Middle East.
So let’s do this together. Let’s stop them.
The resolution I’m using was little known until last year even though it has existed since the 1970s.  I was the first Senator to use it to stop an arms deal, at the time with Pakistan.  Though our vote fell short then, the public outcry you and I raised then actually forced the administration to pull the deal back.
In other words, the last time we did this, we won.
Let’s do it again. Let’s make our voices heard. Voices for peace, for not arming extremism.
You can lend your voice and your support here.
It’s important you help fund this effort by RANDPAC. We have just a matter of days to get the word out. So please help today.

Thank you for all you do."

The US will provide over $110 billion in weapons to Saudi Arabia in the largest weapons deal in US history. In the deal, Saudi Arabia will buy a number of weapons and vehicles from the US, including the THAAD missile defense system, and 150 Black-hawk helicopters.
